Sandy Lewis on the Lewis Family Farm

Sandy Lewis works with, Jen, one of his border collies to herd a group of cattle in one of the many pastures on the Lewis Family Farm in Essex Friday, July 30, 2010. The 1,200-acre organic farm grows a variety of grasses, alfalfa and wheat, in addition to raising a herd of grass-fed beef. In 2006, Lewis and his wife, Barbara, became embroiled in a legal battle against the Adirondack Park Agency over three farmworker houses on their 1,200-acre farm. Their victory in the courts dealt a significant blow to the agency. Jason McKibben/The Post-Star
